A Lost Factor-Jasmine's Story

Chapter 20-Violence Solves Something

Suddenly, Wazumi started coming to, mentally lifting himself off the ground. "Boring, am I?" he said, cackling maniacally while glowing with a dark aura.

"Let's go!" Alan ordered, grabbing Jasmine's hand and running out the door.

Rita ran up to Wazumi and swung the board at him. The board hit, breaking in two over Wazumi's head, his dark aura made him unphazed. Rita then ran out following Alan and Jasmine and slammed the door.

"Not good not good not good..." Jasmine mumbled, too surprised to think about anything else. Wazumi was illusioned, was evil, even if controlled. "How can I do this..." She froze, realizing another thing. Wazumi wasn’t just Wazumi. He was Brian’s digimon partner, Wizardmon. That was worse than just being an illusioned person or a digimon pretending to be human.

About a block from the apartment where they left, Alan let go of Jasmine's hand, who just stood there, lost in thoughts. He then unzipped his bag, putting the notes inside. He walked away and hid behind a tree, pulling his Digivice out, concealing it from the others. He started pressing buttons, then stumbled on the locater feature of the device, while Rita looked around for a bigger, thicker, more jagged blunt instrument to thwack Wazumi with.

Back at the apartment, Wazumi, holding his head, heard a noise coming from around the side of the apartment.

Jasmine sat down on the edge of the sidewalk near the others, slightly kicking the stuff in the gutter out of the way. "I...the others weren't that bad...Brandy was somewhat sane, let Alysha go, let me go. Jenni....almost... But how...I still can't fix it..." she mumbled to herself, then looked at Rita, then towards Alan. "You two should go before he tries to find me again."

"And let him loose into the public?" Rita snapped, trying to lift a big tree limb off the ground. "Ain't gonna happen."

"Okay, I think I got it..." Alan said to himself, putting the Digivice away and looking back to the apartment.

Meanwhile, Wazumi walked around the back of the apartment, looking around. He spotted a pool filled with water. "Now what kind of stupid human would have a pool filled with water in winter..."

Suddenly a small bomb jumped out of the pool and exploded in front of him, stunning him. "What the..." he said, startled.

Jasmine jumped up, looking in the direction of the explosion. "What? Oh, not good not good..." she said, running back towards the apartment.

Wazumi stepped back, looking toward the pool and shielding his face. "Why you... who's there?" he yelled, noticing a splash in the water. "If you want to play it like that..." Wazumi then floated up over the water, turning into his digimon form, Wizardmon. "Where are you? Show yourself!"

A head popped out of the water. A small orange and aqua-greenish Digimon with a sea animal's face and bunny ears... It was Alan's digimon, Sierramon, looking up at Wazumi. She then plopped her head back underwater. Suddenly, a huge gush of multi-colored water rose from the pool, striking Wizardmon. The wave knocked Wizardmon clear over the apartment, landing him in the middle of the street.

Jasmine froze after seeing Wizardmon fly though the air, recognizing him as Wazumi. "Guys, go, now! Things are a lot worse than before," she said as she questioning her sanity, walking over to him. "Alan," she said to him, still watching Wizardmon enough though he was barely conscious. "Please don't tell my family how dangerous things have gotten, although I doubt I'll get to talk to them any time soon. I don't want them to worry. Rita...you're brother's insane."

"Dangerous? Wha...?" Alan said, pretending to be confused. He ran over to the tree again, activating his Digivice. "So that's his true form..."

"My brother?!?" Rita said. "I don't know what you're talking about. He's perfectly sane."

Wizardmon tried to get up, looking over at the group.

Jasmine almost replied to Rita but focused her attention on Wizardmon. "What're you doing? What do you want?"

Wizardmon looked at Jasmine, then leapt up away from her and disappeared.

Alan walked up to Jasmine. "I wonder what scared him off..." he said, pretending to be unaware.

Rita came over, dragging the heavy tree branch. She dropped it and looked around. "What? Where'd he go...?" she said in disappointment.

Jasmine sighed, partially in relief, partially in awareness of the truth she knew. "He's going to talk to the one controlling him...the one controlling all of them, the one who caused others to disappear." She looked to Rita, and slightly smiled at the stick she had. "You're just like your brother. Although I think that's why even after this, you'll be safe. I doubt they'd try to hurt you if aware that it'd get Brian to get over irrational, and he'll already be mad at Brandy, and Wazumi." Facing Alan, she sighed. "I gotta head back, it's not safe for me here. Most of the things I need are at the tower, and...I'll get by. You be careful."

"It's okay." Rita said assuring. "He can stay over at my place till his parents get back."

"Why thank you." Alan replied. "...What was your name again...?"

Rita scowled. "I hate my name... call me whatever you want."

"Thanks," Jasmine said. Smiling at Alan, she added, "If Rita hurts any teenage boys that look like Nick, let me know and/or donk her."

"Nick, huh?" Alan asked. "Okay, I'll keep that in mind."

"Hey, bub." Rita growled. "I'm the one doing the babysitting, got that?"

Alan smiled. "Of course." he said, humoring the Treyer girl. "Lead the way."

Rita sighed. "Okay... see ya Jas." she said, walking off to her apartment.

"Erm... bye Jasmine. Sorry we didn't get to visit properly." Alan said, waving and following Rita back to the Treyer residence.

Jasmine waved bye, still not liking this. Still, she wasn't going to endanger anyone else she knew again. Alan coming was unexpected, Rita was...Rita, definitely her brother's sister. But if things were going to get this bad, then she had to keep innocent people safe. Innocent being any non-digidestined, anyone who didn't already know about the dangers. This was her task to do, to find a way to save the others, set things right. Finding reason in all the lives changed forever. Even if it meant changing hers more.
