Rules-Dimensions

Any dimension and/or world that is not posted at the info site needs to have a profile made for it before it is used or referred to. This includes any inter-dimensional characters.

Each dimension refers to a separate universe on a different plane. Each universe has many smaller galaxies and planets, so there might be multiple planets in a dimension with intelligent life. Dimensions are typically named for the first planet of that dimension that is capable of inter-dimensional travel in some method, whether it was due to the inhabitants developing it themselves or imported from another dimension, such as D-Porters and similar technology

Information
There are infinitely many dimensions, however each dimension is only able to access only particular dimensions based on the technology available to use for transport from that dimension. The more advanced dimensions are able to access more dimensions. It is possible to travel between different dimensions to reach access to worlds that one's home is unable to reach, aalthoughthis is not recommended beyond gathering information.

Although the dimensions can be named for one planet, the fact that there are unlimited numbers of dimensions and planets in each makes it difficult to name them all. Most are either named numerically or a combination of both. So there would appear to be many "earth" dimensions due to the number of dimensions that had earth be the first to achieve inter-dimensional travel, typically due to digital worlds and D-Porters, but all have a longer name which includes a numerical aspect to it.

Port-Links
Every planet in a dimension has a 'natural' port-link, a place on a planet like a particular part of a city or region, that when someone travels to that dimension, they will go to that place. These 'natural' port-links are typically established by dimensions with technology when someone goes to that dimension for the first time. The location can be random at times, and parallelism may not have any effect on it.
Some dimensions such as Lerkurlia are able to imitate the natural port-link and create artificial port-links in other places in their dimension. These port-links have to be physically installed, and are only used for inner-dimensional travel. Very few dimensions have the technology to use the artificial port-links, although they may appear in other dimensions.

Parallelism
While there are not dimensions that are perfectly parallel, there are some that are nearly parallel to one another. A dimension can not access its nearly-parallels because they are too similar.

In dimensions that are parallel yet separate enough to travel between, there may be some events that are similar to the parallels, but not all. The parallels between the worlds would typically follow parallel timelines, descending into their family tree, although events that cause major differences in the timelines to occur, the parallels may not remain parallel, causing those descendants to not be parallel. So because of the different timelines in different parallel dimensions, not everyone might have a parallel in one dimension. Just because one parallel goes to another dimension doesn't mean all the other parallels of that person do.

Digital Worlds
The digital worlds are separate dimensions that are frequently accessed to the world(not a specifically dimension) that created it with their advancing technology, Internet, and communication. These are typically about the same size as the world that created it. Occasionally, separate worlds may branch off of the digital worlds, but are still linked to the digital world and the planet, often referred to as the 'real world', that created it. The travel of Digidestined between the two worlds does not count as interdimensional travel in the sense of being the first world in that dimension.
